Homemade self-tanner is a safe tanning method. A great solution for people whose skin does not tolerate excess sun or is extremely sensitive to chemicals. It will always work when tanning causes photoaging of the skin, discoloration and even sunburn. No other homemade self-tanner works as effectively.

Advantages of a homemade self-tanner

  • It darkens the skin in a very natural and non-exaggerated way.
  • It works on the surface of the skin, so it does not irritate it.
  • Thanks to the addition of oils, it nourishes and moisturizes the skin.
  • This is the cheapest solution when it comes to tanning at home.
  • It does not contain parabens, artificial fragrances and unnecessary chemical ingredients.
  • It does not leave streaks, stains and bad smell.

Do you want to darken your skin, but are you afraid of experimenting with tanning beds and self-tanners? More and more women are opting for homemade tanning, without sun and cosmetics.

BEST HOMEMADE SELF-TANNERS – RECIPES

In fact, you do not need a lot of ingredients to prepare a self-tanner yourself. Many of them can be found in … your kitchen. The most important are cocoa, coffee and black tea, because they have colouring properties. The issue of additives remains open to ideas – we can combine them in any configuration, creating individually tailored homemade self-tanning products.

1. Homemade self-tanner with cocoa, coconut oil and shea butter

Dissolve a tablespoon of coconut oil and twice as much shea butter in a water bath. Add a spoonful of cocoa and half a teaspoon of nutmeg. Mix everything together and leave aside to cool down. Before use, warm it up in the palms of your hands and apply to the skin like a body balm.

2. Homemade self-tanner with cocoa in the form of a bar

Dissolve two tablespoons of beeswax, the same amount of shea butter and coconut oil. Add a tablespoon of cocoa, a teaspoon of cinnamon and half a teaspoon of grated nutmeg. Mix thoroughly so that there are no lumps. Pour the mass into a mould with a shape and size similar to a soap bar. Put it in the fridge. After freezing, remove the self-tanner from the mould. Apply the tanning bar to areas you want to give a slightly brown effect.

3. Homemade self-tanning oil with cocoa

Prepare your favourite, liquid oil, eg argan, macadamia, almond, jojoba. Pour it into a tightly closed bottle, add a tablespoon of cocoa, a teaspoon of nutmeg and the same amount of cinnamon. Close and shake well to combine all the ingredients together. Use like body oil.

4. Homemade spray self-tanner with coffee

Brew two glasses of very strong coffee. Leave it to cool, then pour into a suitable size bottle with an atomizer. Add two glasses of water and a quarter glass of almond oil (you can replace it with others of similar consistency). Shake before each use, spray the skin and distribute evenly with circular hand movements.

5. Homemade spray self-tanner with tea

Brew a very strong tea, preferably leafy, infused in boiling water for a minimum of fifteen minutes. Put the cooled tea into a bottle with an atomizer and enrich with a bit of oil, for instance, almond oil. Use after bathing, just like the self-tanner No. 4.

6. Easy homemade self-tanner with cocoa and body balm

Prepare half a glass of your favourite body lotion – it must be well moisturizing, non-greasy, bright colour. Add half a cup of powdered cocoa to it and mix until you obtain a homogeneous consistency. Apply to the skin regularly after washing.

7. Homemade self-tanner with walnuts and vinegar

Boil the walnuts on low heat for about 8 hours. Strain the brew from nuts, add a tablespoon of vinegar and cool down. Apply it to the skin with a sponge or pour it into a bottle with an atomizer to make the application more convenient.

8. Homemade self-tanner with tea, cocoa and oil

Prepare two colouring ingredients – half a cup of boiled hot black tea and a quarter cup of cocoa. Chill and combine with coconut oil. Pour the tea leaves of the brewed tea into the mix and blend the whole so that it has a creamy consistency. If the home self-tanner is too runny, add more cocoa. Apply like a body lotion – every day after a bath.
