DIY fizzy bath balls – easy-to-follow recipe

They look absolutely charming, they care for our skin, smell nicely and once dropped into the bath, they fizz and change the colour of the bath – fizzy bath balls are an absolute hit. Do you know that you can easily make your own fizzy bath balls at home?

Every woman likes to take a relaxing bath every once in a while. What to do when you don’t have any bubble bath or bath balls, and popping out to the drugstore is not an option? You can make fizzy bath balls at home!

Homemade fizzy bath balls

Many people believe that something like a fizzy bath ball can hardly be done by themselves. They couldn’t have been more wrong. Bath balls can be easily made from the products available at hand. In fact, all you need is a few kitchen semi-finished products and a bit of free time. It is great fun and a way to prepare the bath you actually need, because you can add many additional ingredients.

DIY bath balls. What do you need?

To prepare bath balls you need:

  • 1 cup baking soda,
  • 1 cup citric acid,
  • 1 cup potato flour,
  • 4 tsp coconut oil/ shea butter.

Obviously, you will also need a bowl or a container to mix all the ingredients, and molds (of the shape you like). If you don’t have such molds, you can also give the balls the right shape just by forming them in your hands.

How to make fizzy bath balls?

Follow the instructions:

  1. Mix all dry ingredients.
  2. Slowly add liquid ingredients and mix.
  3. Finally, add the dried type additives.Mix everything well.
  4. Fill the molds with the mass.
  5. Leave it to dry for 24 hours.
  6. Remove the molds – ready!

In fact, the above-mentioned recipe is just the basis of making this cosmetic. What else can you add to the mixture so that it acquires new, interesting properties?

  • Essential oils have an aromatherapeutic effect.
  • Natural clays that cleanse and care for our body.
  • Spices that will give the colour and stimulate microcirculation.
  • Sea or Himalayan salt that will nourish and exfoliate the skin.
  • Powdered milk that moisturizes and smoothes the skin.
  • Hydrolate, which will provide additional nutritional effect
  • Dried herbs, e.g. rosemary, which soothe the skin.
  • Flower petals, e.g. lavender, which will additionally take care of the skin.
  • Food colour that will give the balls (and water) a beautiful colour.
  • Rose water, which will nourish and rejuvenate the skin.

Bath balls – how to use?

This DIY bath ball is very easy to make but also extremely easy to use. All you need to do it pour hot water into the bathtub and drop the balls into it. They will immediately start to fizzle and give the colour. You can use any number of the balls for one bath – the more you add, the more valuable nutrients will the water contain that will positively affect your skin.
