You can even out the skin tone with a good foundation, and gently emphasize face contours with a bit of blusher and bronzer. Two strokes with a brow pencil deliver a desired shape without unnatural look. There are a few possibilities in case of lashes.

What are the ways to enhance eyelashes?

Developments in cosmetics can be observed everywhere. As a result, we can choose between at least several methods for long, full, ideally curled and darkened lashes. The methods include:

  • every-day mascara application,
  • eyelash extensions,
  • strip eyelashes,
  • eyelash perm,
  • eyelash tinting,
  • eyelash growth serum.

Eyelash extensions will be unsuitable for the fans of natural effects. Putting on false eyelashes is a temporary way for more expressive make-up. Eyelash perm, eyelash tinting and using serums are most highly recommended.

Darkening natural eyelashes

If we aim only for darkening natural lashes, eyelash tinting may work. On the other hand, other methods influence length, thickness and density of the lashes. Darker shade of eyelashes can be achieved through dyeing (also with henna) or using a tried and tested eyelash serum. For example, Nanolash eyelash and eyebrow serum which also darkens the natural colour of hairs around the eyes.

Eyelash tinting – who is it for?

Eyelash tinting is a treatment aimed at women who have natural long and strong lashes. Tinting them in a salon could bring out their beauty. Darker colour will make their length, thickness and curl more visible. You will enjoy the effect of mascara-coated lashes in every situation. Eyelash tinting is a perfect solution for all women who look for a substitute for a mascara.

What are the contraindications?

There are a few situations in which eyelash tinting cannot be performed:

  • oversensitivity to synthetic dyes; susceptibility to allergies,
  • effects are invisible in case of thin, short and sparse lashes,
  • extremely weak and damaged lashes,
  • temporary and chronic eye diseases of all types.

Eyelash tinting – effects

If there are no contraindications, we can feel free to decide on the treatment. We must keep in mind that eyelash tinting does not change the shape of eyelashes. It only makes them darker. They won’t be longer, stronger, thicker, more elastic or lifted up. The treatment only darkens the lashes with a pigment. As a consequence, darker hairs define eye contour and make eyes look bigger.

Eyelash tinting – procedure

The treatment is a bit similar to applying a mascara but it lasts 30-60 minutes. An aesthetician applies a dye to eyelashes which gets waterproof after drying off. Obviously, the lashes must be prepared before the treatment – cleansed and combed. The maximum number of layers can be chosen to suit the client’s expectations. The last stage of eyelash tinting is applying a revitalising serum which is to strengthen the lashes after the treatment.

Are there any side effects?

Firs of all, tinting can cause irritation as any other procedure around eye area. The risk is higher when we have sensitive skin and the treatment is improperly performed e.g. by an unqualified beautician. Also the issue of allergic reactions arises. Dyeing substances applied to lashes can cause allergic reactions. The more sensitive eyes, the worse.

Second of all, eyelash tinting does not offer many possibilities. You must follow certain steps to keep the effects as long as possible. You must avoid contact with water and give up on products containing oils. What is more, the sun or rubbing the lashes make the pigment fade away more quickly.

Does the treatment have any advantages?

Most of all, it is an effective way of darkening the eyelashes. It can replace a mascara for 6-8 weeks – this is how long the effects of eyelash tinting last. It is a quite good idea for women who have strong eyelashes and want to give up on tedious mascara application while putting on make-up every morning.

Downsides of eyelash tinting

Regrettably, this method hides many more drawbacks than assets. All things considered, it turns out that it is better idea to search for alternative solutions because eyelash tinting:

  • causes irritation,
  • lasts only a few weeks,
  • is costly and time-consuming,
  • does not work for short lashes,
  • must be done by a technician,
  • limits daily care.

Is there a better way to darken the eyelashes?

Seductive look with the eyelash serum NanolashOf course, there is! Instead of synthetic dyes, we can use henna. Natural dye is not as irritative for eye area but its effects are short-lived. When it comes to natural methods, you can try castor oil which strengthens, adds shine and slightly darkens the lashes. However, the effect may fail to live up to our expectations. And now what?

Eyelash tinting is not the best method for long and darker lashes. Using an eyelash growth serum delivers far better effects. Nanolash eyelash and eyebrow serum is the most popular. It strengthens, lengthens and thickens the eyelashes as well as makes them a few shades darker. As a result, we can enjoy maximum extension and defined eyes – we kill two birds with one stone.

  3. Application is very easy thanks to a handy brush and lightweight formula.
  4. Price is adequate to the effects.
  5. Effects last even up to six months, not only a few weeks.
